At a modern pub, great food, excellent service and the right atmosphere are not enough. Guests also expect to be able to watch their favourite teams, major championships and live sports without interruption.
For John Scotts Kungsträdgården, which opened in central Stockholm in 2024, sport is a natural part of the experience. To offer guests a wide range of matches, leagues and entertainment, they needed a flexible, future-proof TV solution capable of meeting the high standards expected of a modern pub.
The John Scott's pub concept was created with the ambition of becoming a second living room for its guests. Since the first pub opened on Avenyn in Gothenburg in 2013, the chain has grown and established itself in several locations across Sweden.
In 2024, John Scott's Kungsträdgården opened on Hamngatan in Stockholm as the latest addition to the chain. With its central location, wide selection of food and drink, and live sports from the world's biggest leagues and tournaments, the pub has quickly become a natural meeting place for both sports enthusiasts and other guests.
The world of sport never stands still. New broadcasting rights agreements, new streaming services and a growing range of leagues and tournaments make it increasingly difficult for restaurants, pubs and sports bars to keep track of where content is available and how it should be delivered.
For John Scotts Kungsträdgården, the challenge was to offer guests an attractive range of sports without having to spend time and resources on complicated TV installations or administration. At the same time, the solution needed to be flexible enough to show different types of content on multiple screens simultaneously and meet guests’ high expectations.
“It should work as smoothly as possible. The less contact, the better. It means our partnership is working as it should and that we have even fewer technical problems to think about.”
Kim Andersson, Operations Manager at John Scott's Kungsträdgården
When John Scott’s Kungsträdgården opened its doors, it chose EzyStream from Binero. The solution gives the pub access to a scalable and cost-effective TV platform, making it easy and flexible to deliver sport, entertainment and TV channels. Since August 2024, EzyStream has been a central part of the business, helping ensure that guests can always watch the sporting events they want to see.
The long-standing relationship between John Scott’s and Binero also played an important role. The partnership goes back several years and has made it possible to create a solution tailored to the specific needs of sports bars.
The personal contact and the fact that Binero are very solution-oriented are what matter most.”
Kim Andersson, Operations Manager at John Scott's Kungsträdgården.
Today, guests at John Scott's Kungsträdgården can watch some of the world's biggest sporting events and leagues, including the Premier League, Champions League, Allsvenskan, SHL and Nations League. The offering is complemented by content from leading providers such as Viaplay and TV4.
For the pub, this means a reliable and flexible TV solution that makes it easier to deliver the experience guests expect when they choose to watch sport in a restaurant rather than at home.
At the same time, the long-term partnership with Binero has helped bring the entire John Scotts chain under a single agreement, simplifying administration and creating benefits for each individual pub.
For guests, it means one thing: their favourite match is always close at hand. For John Scotts Kungsträdgården, it means being able to continue as the obvious choice for sport, food and community in the heart of Stockholm.
